Primary

At G. D Goenka Public School, Aligarh education is designed to meet the basic learning needs of students. In doing so, it is also intended to prepare students to benefit from secondary education. In keeping with this broad aim, primary education is geared towards enabling students to develop essential learning skills and providing them with basic learning content. The school identifies three primary aims of education:

  • to enable the child to live a full life as a child and to realize his or her potential as a unique individual
  • to enable the child to develop as a social being through living and co-operating with others and so contribute to the good of society
  •  to prepare the child for further education and lifelong learning.

The school lays stress on the following:-

Physical Education

Physical education is important in as students’ bodies are growing rapidly and require physical activity. In addition to physical strength, students are encouraged to participate in sports and games to ensure that they acquire team spirit at an early age.

Critical Thinking and Logic

Another objective of education is to foster critical thinking and to encourage logical judgement in a child. Without this, no student can become a truly successful person who can analyze and make informed and rational decisions.

Promoting Values

Students need to develop positive values and learn to appreciate their own and other people’s cultures. Religious and cultural tolerance are inculcated among students.

Environmental Awareness

The students imbibe an awareness and appreciation of the environment. A deep-rooted respect for nature and animals is encouraged in them. In addition, students also learn about the need to conserve energy and in turn the environment.

The school’s curriculum aims to enable children to meet with self-confidence and assurance, the demands of life, now and in the future.

Pre Primary

The Pre-Primary Section of our school is a melting pot of ‘magical’ moments and joyous learning experiences, wherein each little Goenkan is enveloped in lots of unconditional love and care. As our little ones step into the portals of our school, they are empowered with tools that not only draw out their dormant talent and skills, but also enhance their self esteem and develop their potential as human beings.Each member of the school community takes immense pride in the fact that for our little ones, their school is a home away from home.

Experiential learning is the hallmark of the holistic education that we provide to our students. Each activity pursued by them is explicitly related to a specific learning outcome. The projection of the ‘thematic approach’ to teaching and learning is emphasized, so that various academic areas are taught in an interdisciplinary manner, making them relevant to the child’s development.

To ensure the success of our educational endeavours we work together as a union of parents, teachers and students and focus on constantly enhancing our teaching practice and student learning, whilst developing even stronger links with the community.

We ensure a stress-free childhood, making learning enriching in the most impressionable years, thereby building a skill based foundation which enables each little Goenkan to cope with the future with immense confidence and fortitude and helps them to emerge as true ‘ Global Citizens’.

The Pre Primary Section of our school is the foundation of each little Goenkan’s ‘journey of learning’. It is here that we provide them with the ‘wind under their wings’ to help them soar high and achieve excellence and live up to the school motto- FASTER, HIGHER, BRIGHTER!!, now and in the future.

Middle

Middle school seeks to consolidate what the Junior school had initiated. The school at this level endeavors to promote an able and diverse student body. It encourages in each member the traits of curiosity, creativity, leadership, flexibility, intellectual risk taking, independence of thought and respect for scholarship.

Through a balance mix of scholastic and co scholastic activities, it seeks to build a more egalitarian basis for social and personal growth. Children’s freedom and space is respected to enable them to blossom into well groomed individuals. The school encourages them to develop a winning attitude that determines the quality of motivation and strength of commitment.

The school instills social consciousness, concern for others and involvement in the community both within and without the school with a broad vision of humanity, compassion and sensitivity to issues around them. The school also focuses to foster the norms for social behavior and interaction. It also develops within students a will to face challenges in both work and play as also a sense of competence, self confidence and emotional and physical well being. Children are taught to appreciate the dignity of human labour. Sports and other co-curricular activities remain an integral part of the curriculum.

A stress free, non coercive and creative environment both within and outside the class enables the children to hone their skills and unfurl their innovativeness. The school also provides them with an opportunity for developing a strong bond of faith and mutual respect with their peers, teachers and parents.
